President’s Day Activities 2011

Since both of my boys are home and it’s President’s Day I did some searching to find a few President’s Day activities to do with them.  We made these cute little finger puppets of President Lincoln and President Washington.  Not only was it a fun craft that we did together, but it also presented an opportunity to discuss the names of coins with my youngest.

After making the puppets we discussed these two famous presidents, testing what my oldest already knew and giving some new information to both boys.  Then we went online and read the legend of George Washington and the Cherry tree and then found an easy coloring page with cherries.

I also came across this great word search of presidents for my elementary school aged son to do while the little one napped.  He loves word searches so this was great because he enjoyed the activity and was exposed to the names of all the presidents.

Did you do anything special this President’s Day?
