Fun with Fruit and Chocolate Fondue

This blog, Edible Fruit, gave me an idea for a fun family activity.  We made a chocolate fondue to dip fruit, and other goodies into.

We started with our chocolate fondue ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup of half and half or light cream
  • ½ cup of sugar

Place all of the ingredients in a sauce pan and cook over low heat stirring constantly, until the chocolate chips are melted.

We also had our selection of fruits and prepared those as well.  We chose banana, apple, orange, and celery.  I know celery is not a fruit but my oldest son was sure it would taste great with chocolate so we gave it a try too.

Then we poured it into our fondue pot.

We explained to the boys how to use the fondue forks and the rule of no double dipping and the fun commenced.

This was a great activity that we all really enjoyed.  Fun time together around the kitchen table laughing, enjoying each other and a fun treat.  This is something we will be doing again!
